The Lackner Group Releases Software Update
Pittsburgh, PA, February 22, 2016 –The Lackner Group, developers of software tools and solution providers for estate and trust administration, now announce the availability of a software update and notes related to their proprietary 6-in-1 software.
Specifically, the e-file for US 1041, along with the fiduciary returns for the following states have been approved: NJ, NY, OH and PA. Paper filing has been approved for the 8971, 709, 1041 and the fiduciary returns for the following states: CT, DE, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA and WI.
Form 8971 is new and will be required for all estates where 706 Line 1 plus Line 4 exceeds the basic exclusion amount for returns filed on or after August 1, 2015. This form is normally due within 30-days post filing of Form 706. It is also required that a Schedule A is provided to each beneficiary within the same time period for property acquired from the estate. This reporting requirement does not apply to cash or IRD (cash or non-cash.) “Our 6-in-1 software will automatically generate this form based on existing data with one additional step; allocating residuary property that is being distributed to beneficiaries,” said Vincent J. Lackner, Jr., President of The Lackner Group.
