SERVER NOTES:
- We do not support Windows 10 or 11 for FileMaker Server purposes.
- Windows Server Essentials is not supported by Claris/FileMaker, however we have found that it works, but renders Remote Access features unusable. If you need to use remote services with the new server it will have to be on the Standard version instead of the Essentials in order to also support Lackner software.
- On Window’s servers, FileMaker Server uses IIS on port 443 by default.
- Windows Server 2019 is on its way out: Any new Windows servers should use 2025 if possible, for future-proofing.
- Firewalls should be configured to allow server traffic on ports 443 (4443, 8443 alternatively), 5003, 16000, and 16001.
- Security software will need to have exceptions in place to allow FileMaker Server and FileMaker Pro to function properly. This article offers details.
